Cookie Policy

Last updated: 21 May 2025

This Cookie Policy explains how Xcipher Technologies (Pty) Ltd uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at xciphertech.com.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by a website. They are widely used to make sites work, remember preferences, or collect usage data. Some cookies are set by the website itself; others are set by third-party services embedded in the page.

Does Xcipher use cookies?

No — we do not use first-party cookies for tracking, analytics, advertising, or personalisation.

We have made a deliberate choice not to embed analytics scripts (such as Google Analytics), advertising tags, social media pixels, or any other third-party tracking technology. This means:

  • We do not track you across websites.
  • We do not build a profile of your browsing behaviour.
  • We do not sell or share behavioural data with advertisers.

Are there any cookies at all?

Possibly one category — essential infrastructure cookies set automatically by our hosting provider (not by us). These are technical in nature and serve no tracking or marketing purpose:

CookieSet byPurposeExpires
__Host-*Hosting providerLoad balancing / routing — required to serve the pageSession

If no hosting-layer cookie is present in your browser after visiting our site, that is perfectly normal — some hosting providers operate without them entirely.

No cookie banner — why?

Cookie consent banners are required when a site uses non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics or advertising). Because we use none, no consent banner is needed or displayed. This is intentional and compliant with the Botswana Data Protection Act 2018.

Your controls

Even without cookies from us, your browser gives you full control. You can view, block, or delete any cookies stored on your device through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Changes to this policy

If we ever introduce analytics, third-party tools, or any cookie-based functionality in the future, we will update this page, add a proper disclosure, and obtain consent where required before doing so.
